| From Audart Tributes We brought our two boys, aged 5
and
7 to the Audart Gallery right after you opened. The Urban Frontier
exhibition
was up and we had a lot of fun showing all that amazing art to our
sons.
We thought they might be afraid of the huge metal sculpture by
Mr.
Hatchett but, as it turned out, we couldn't drag them out of his room,
and
it was all we could do to keep them from climbing up onto the large
piece
in the center. It was really fantastic, and they still talk about
"the
big metal creatures". Alice Dawson, New York

A number of David Hatchett's sculptural pieces were exhibited in Audart's inaugural exhibition "The Urban Frontier". David uses aluminum sheeting, metal tubing and other materials from the construction industry, often wrapping and bolting these materials around everyday objects. He has referred to his art as deconstructionism. David's paintings have been exhibited in the Ajita Exhibition at STATION in Houston, Texas. His work continues to be shown in numerous galleries in New York and in Florida. David is also a curator, musician and writer. home artists' index.............introduction |
