Atsuko Kubota is a sculptor and an animation artist. She was an exhibiting artist in the "Art In The Raw" exhibition, curated by Chris Butler at the Audart Gallery in the Spring of 1997. She was born in Japan and has an interesting background in underground music and art performance. She has also published independent comic books in Tokyo. Since arriving in the United States in 1990, Atsuko has attended the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and had solo exhibitions of her work at Fluid (Yale University); Some Other Place at the Windows Gallery and others. She also participated in ARTSPACE as a mentor in the Summer Arts For Youth Program and she appeared in Citizen's Television "For Art Sake" and "Artist Gallery". She has had solo exhibitions of her work, as well as numerous group exhibitions. Atsuko
received her Master of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of
the
Arts, in 2000. The CG animation film she created, titled "Better
Life",
received several film festival awards, and has been screened around the
world.
Atsuko
is presently Art Director at High Impact Games, and she looks forward
to
having more time for her art work.
