by Lily Hatchett
Lily Hatchett's paintings were on view in Audart's exhibition, at Peter's Backyard, in New York's Greenwich Village in December 1995 and January 1996. Lily Hatchett recognizes art in things that many of us would overlook--a discarded plastic bag fluttering in the wind becomes the performer worthy of recording. A simple book of matches is strategically torn into a human portrait. Lily's canvas banners are painted with a parade of characters that seem to be a species of her own creation. Her work, often simple and understated, is always elegant. Lily's paper heads, three of which are pictured above, were exhibited in the Ajita Exhibition at STATION, in Houston Texas. Lily Hatchett is a painter, sculptor, textile artist, videographer and musician. home artists' index.............introduction |
