STRATEGIC PLACEMENT

You can't add a beauty mark just anywhere! Candy Darling, the infamous Warhol Factory drag queen, knew exactly
where to place a beauty mark.

A black dot also looks great on a bare shoulder, or on the neck just below one ear, especially with a short haircut. The tiny dot, when correctly placed, was magical, and just another element of the contrast, or counterpoint, that was so prevalent in pulling off the 1960's look.
As for Candy Darling, she may have been the most beautiful of them all, creating a stunning face for the world to see. She was, at least, able to avoid what passed for style among men in the 1960's, especially when it came to hair.
